tea stains and silk screens

here is an example of 2 different techniques I worked into my line.

I took some of my old poetry (8 years old actually) and made it into a silk screen print. I got my classmate Lise to hand write the original print because her penmanship is much better then mine. I then took those patches of fabric and gave them a tea bath, as well as another fabric I am using in my line.

since this image I dyed them all one more time for a slightly darker colour than this!

here is another sneak peek

of a piece from my line.
This can be worn as a skirt by a fearless warrior women leading all she knows and loves to safety, or as an awesome accessory over your pants....or no pants, you can decide. ;D

and to show the corseted side!

(click and they grow a bit!!!!)

yay feathers and map fabrics!!!!

I'm not showing any more actual garments until the show...I'm probably going to post a few more progress pics though!

a sneak peek

I really don't feel overly comfortable sharing much of my actual pieces for my line, sketch or garment wise, until my clothing has walked the run way in April.

but I thought I'd post a picture of a couple of my bracelets I've been making for the line, because I'm just not that mean!
;)

I will be doing a photo shoot tomorrow night with another even more awesome accessory I completed for my line, perhaps I'll share that too!

also, here is the song my models are going down the runway too.

Inspiration for my line

My line is coming together nicely, I'm almost done pattern drafting, just a couple more hours on some sleeves and alterations. over half my line is already mocked up and I've started cutting out a lot of actual fabric.
I've strung together the feathers for Karens skirt :D
Doing pretty good, starting to worry just a bit, but doing better then I thought I would be at this time.
I need to get some pictures asap, I keep forgetting to take my camera to school! I'd love to share sketches but I just don't think its safe to do things like that until after the clothing is made and has walked the runway.
but I can post a few pictures that are inspirational to my line.
